They've both just retired, but sis taught Physics and bro in law Earth Science.

I've got to go, Elektra's got supper. Also, we won't be around tomorrow, 'cos we're going to a movie with them - it's a 'premiere' of a history movie they made in a nearby town, kind of a deal.

Dmitri is correct, in the US almost all of our weather comes from the north west to the south east. Down here we call the strong winter cold fronts the 'Alberta Clipper' (from Alberta Canada).

I am far enough south that our summer patterns are some times controlled by the trade winds, but I am close enough to the Gulf of Mexico that our weather is more controlled the the land and water temperatures.

I suspect that Britain is far enough north to be affected by the Arctic wind patterns.
