All decent now.

It was hot and sunny, but I had to get a sample text our to somebody for a possible gig. Then we ran out to the pool, and got a swim in before the clouds and thunder came in.

in the 1970's we were at the hight of A.M. CB radioand I was talking with a lass in another town and she told me she was in her bedroom, I said I can "see" hershe asked how ?
I told her that I'd bought a "voice/vision modulator" from America and it converts radio waves in to images - I heard a scream and it went silent ? after a few minutes she came back on and said what can you see now ?
I put 2 and 2 together and worked out she was naked on the bedso playing my hunch, I said a night dress
The next few days it was all over the airwaves that Animal had got this "voice/vision modulator" with some asking how much it cost

It's amazing what people will believe.

me and others played some really pranks on the CB once, we convinced a few around that the armed forces were holding war games in town and they were using the railway track for tank movementone person actually phoned the stationhe got choice words from the police

The Yorkshire cops must have hated CBers as much as the American highway patrol did.

while it was AM CB, they couldn't officially recognise us, but one special cop WAS a cb'eer (among many) and if an extra "search team" was needed - they knew which were the good guys to call onthen Thatcher brought in FM cb to be legal and that basically killed it off
many could NOW swear on-line "legally" plus! the european parliament were fining britain "X" number of ££ a year for being FM. Because all of europe was AM at the time

Not to mention that FM doesn't go very far. With AM, you can bounce all over the planet. Talk to Rod in New Zealand, if the weather's right...

very true and now, I virtually class the pc/internet as a modern CB set upI'm still talking with folk all overeven though I haven't met or seen yet
