re:- mate and his routerhe took the router back and got his money returned, then went somewhere else and bought another "new"one at £46 and I still could not get him up and running,beyond me???.His daughter's boyfriend, who it turns out(mates only just met him)is a computer buff had a go and after a hour and half of twiddling etc found out that the router is an "old" one, for upto windows ME, it could not work with XP and XP could not reconise it either, so he has to take that back now

We had that problem with mum's computer as it was still runing Windows 98 and the software was for XP so my laptop is the master and mum's is the slave as mine was the onlyone with the correct programme, I ended up lading XP onto mum's and it works perfectly now, she doesn't like XP of course after a few wekks she wanted to go back to 98 until I explained that broadband wouldn't work, she still doesn't like XP, she's stubbon
