That's where the stuffy gentlemen in bowler hats and curly mustachios go each day. And sing odd songs. I've seen 'Mary Poppins', you know. smiley - whistle

With the big floppy hat and ragged skirt? smiley - wow You folks really know how to live. smiley - laugh

Sadly, for the missus, that was a site that we didn't get to see when we were over in September. We had one day in London, and then the tube folks went on a 72-hour strike. So we saw other places, like the very lovely town of Colchester.

From nearly four years of wandering h2g2, I have learned that there are 2 sorts of Englishmen. Londoners who are certain that they are the centre of the universe ... and everyone else, who are rather pleased to NOT be Londonders. smiley - laugh

I'm away as well, as it's time to pull a lunch together and be off to work. As I can't allow myself to enter h2g2 during the work-day (it was too distracting and time consuming) I won't be back for another 10 or 12 hours. So smiley - cheers and have a good 'un, mate.

There's not much worry about over-seers. I'm pretty much left to know what needs to be done, and then accomplish it. But I was finding that signing-in to reply to "just one post" easily became an hour of distractions. So though I browse the <./>Info</.> page from time to time, I don't even log on to smiley - yikes the occassionally very foul post I see.

Mind, I occassionally get the feeling that some folks think I might be the "PY". It's almost complimentary to be thought of so much, as to make such a wild connection. smiley - rofl

During the occassional, and sadly recurring, hot times, I've had a number of posts go under the button. I think perhaps 3 have actually stayed wiped out, the rest all being restored. All things considered, that's not bad.

I might have hit the button myself as many as half a dozen times, here or there. Some of those were newbies, very late at night, creating a PS with the most obscene introductions and expectations. If they weren't so badly done, they'd almost be laughable.

Ah yes, I recall hearing some really funny stuff on the CB's as well. Every farm had a base unit, and nearly every vehicle carried a radio ... Tractors included.

One night, there must have been a sleep-over of 12 year old girls and they began some random dialling. They hit on my phone, in a room in a barracks, and left some of the most suggestive comments. Well, suggestive and racy in the minds of 12 year olds. The lads I worked with got a lot of chuckles out of that. smiley - rofl

And it's that annoying time again, ... the work-bell calls. Now if I had walked off with a share of last week's lottery, that totalled 37.3-Million !!! Apparently, it was a brother and sister that shared it. Had both been given up for adoption 30'ish years ago and only found each other about 15 years ago. The brother was on such hard times that he had to use rent money to go collect the winnings.

Anyway, later mate. smiley - cheers

It does seem that even the most 'needy' (by what-ever definition) will find money for lotteries and other little things, eh?

the only way I can do the national and or the european lottery, is by turning the heating off, that would be ok for me, but not fair on my 2 children

Cripes, either your lottery is gawd-awful expensive per play, or your heating is astoundingly cheap. We pay $2 (about a quid) for a lottery play. My heating costs about 72 pounds a month.
