h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

For a few days at the end of August 2007, I was the guest of a very good and close friend on the Isle of Anglesey in Wales
(http://www.anglesey-history.co.uk/).

It was the most peaceful and relaxing time I have had in years, the tranquillity of a small lake within a nature reserve 100yds from the house was a sight to behold.

The welcome given by her family and friends and strangers alike.
I was treat like the proverbial king! and will always be very grateful and humble for it and to be given the privilege of being within her and her families company, words can not cover!

But the words Magical and Thank you, go a little way .

In those few days, I was shown all around the island and part of the Welsh mainland, I was truly in awe! at the sights and panorama, which will remain with me for many years(irrespective of bad short term memory).


Being a "townie" I could always move to the countryside of Yorkshire, but on that isle,with no disrespect to Yorkshire,if I had the money

Here on hootoo, I thank her so dearly for her kindness and also the same goes to her daughter, who gave up her bedroom for my stay

I' m so glad you had such a lovely relaxing break. I am thinking that is just what I could do with right now.

I agree with Smurfles, I think people are beginning to appreciate the sound of silence and the comfort the natural world can bring, not to mention the company of good friends.

I hope the lasts through the winter.

Animal I am very happy that you enjoyed yourself so much.

It seems to be a very tranquil and beautiful place.

It would be very nice if you won the lotto jackpot.

I find being near water very soothing, and when I used to go on holiday with my family by the sea, I would go to the beach early in the morning when there was no-one around.

I have also been to the Lochs of the Trossachs in Scotland.
