I am known as GoldenGirl (previously happyoldbird).
I started posting on the Strictly Come Dancing website at the beginning of the 2007 show. This was my first attempt at message boarding, so I am not very experienced.
I have now gone on the the Points of View board and find that I am enjoying reading (most) of the comments and join in some myself.
I am a 77 year old widow, living alone and buying a computer was suggested to me as a way of 'filling in my time'. Well, it has certainly done that!!
I took lessons on various aspects of computing at my local college, most at a basic level but I did reach 'advanced' with Word. At my age, I now just enjoy my computer and camera, I have found my 'Photoshop' course very helpful with that.
It occurs to me that I may have given the impression that I know quite a bit about computing - nothing could be further from the truth!! I attended classes in the first place because I have no children or grandchildren to show me how to use a computer, in fact I didn't know how to turn one on! I am not much more than a novice - as several posters on the BBC message boards will know, only too well!!
