It's me, Strider!
Well, if you recognize the name, then we have much in common.
Most of my past was spent in dialog with a man nicknamed Corwin whose sole purpose was to--with a bottomless tumbler of brandy in hand--dazzle on-listeners with quips from Douglas Adams and jump to bites of Tolkien and round out with feigned laments about adventures with a trumpted-up family (Zelazny). It had the amazing affect of exponentially decreasing his chances of going home alone.
Things are just slightly different today. Corwin has been hooked by the ever-pressing cultural bent to "get a good job with more pay and you're okay!" As for me, I'm still called Strider by a decreasing few, and the central character in a short story, penned by Corwin himself, which extols the boundless literary license of suicide notes. Except, the b*****d killed me off at the end.
Sorry if I don't get into h2g2 as often as other. I have a very busy life and my PC is at work. We'll have to live with long periods between entries. So here I am, with my thumb out. Wondering if I'll get a chance to read my poetry. BTW, I promise not to panic.
