OOoooo Ca-na-da...

I have to give credit where credit is due. Canada may or may not be the 51st State, but they beat the pants off Americans when it comes to good chocolate. Took a day trip to BC yesterday and ended up buying (and consuming) far too many things that are either made differently in the U.S. or can't be purchased here at all. Mmmm, Mecca.

Drat.

Well, apparently I was dead wrong about getting international money orders from the Post Office... at least if they have to go to the UK, because the UK is one of a handful of countries that won't accept postal money orders from the USPS. So now I'm kind of up a tree. I don't feel comfortable giving a credit card number over an unsecured connection, and the person I want to purchase from will only take payment in UK funds. Drat. Drat drat.

Yadda, yadda.

Yakkity shmakkity. All right, so I've only been on H2G2 for a grand total of 2 days and I'm already writing mishmash. This is a Bad Omen.

I thought it might possibly be handy to know how to purchase an item from overseas, since I'm buying an item from the UK for Christmas and had never needed to get an international money order before. Surprisingly, there isn't very much commonsense information on the Net as to how to go about doing this. If this ends up being useful to anyone, please let me know.
