The Briefing Room

*Has been scribbling in a notebook but now raises a hand*
Where is this place located?
What is the surrounding area like?
Do we have any idea exactly what sort of security is in use?

I've have two questions at the present there should be more to follow as needed. One: Who is the agent with the ablity to call in the air strick. Two: < I see no thread started for the new mission yet.> Well tow is a statement actually.

Kat - From H2G2 Posted Mar 3, 2005
There's no start thread because there's no plan yet. The point is to not just launch in, but to plan your mission together so that you can work as a team.
Once all questions have been addressed, and some sort of plan has been decided upon I'm sure the thread will magically appear.

Thanks Kat we've got to have an idea of wht all we're planning for. Location of target, general landscape, layout of said facilty. I've no problem starting a discussion on the planning of said covert op.

I think we need all the details from Sken first. I know the basic plot etc and what's going to happen but I don't have enough detail to answer the questions and give you the lay of the land
We also need to know how many of us will be playing! So we'll see how many people make it here.
First of all we need to wait for Sken

The facility is located in the Cairngorms mountains (sorry if that is a spelling mistake). The surrounding area is deserted, the terrain is rocky though the mountain it is on is not too steep. Security outside the facility includes an electric fence, and the windows and doors have alarms on them. Windows are made of reinforced glass, though our lasers should be able to cut through them, though that may set off alarms. There is a security team of 30 men on site at all times, working in 6 hour shifts. They are armed with pistols and tasers. There are rifles located on site just in case. The guards are trained with their weapons.
Inside the facility there is the afore-mentioned bioscan mechanism. Outside the restricted area there are security cameras, including infra-red cameras, and laser beams that connect to alarms. Inside the restricted are we do not know what security is like. There are usually 10 guards inside the restricted area and 20 outside.
The airstrike can be taken as an option by any agent, and if you want more than one agent can have it. I originally said only one agent can have it as I don't think there would be much point you having more than one, but that is up to the agents.

Questions:
Do we need to find out who's backing the research without them finding out?
Do we have backgrounds on the scientists at the facility?
Would the alarms trigger a lock-down of the secure part of the facility? (possibly slamming down metal gates and such to prevent entry)
Suggestions:
I think one of the first things to do would be to try to get one of our own demo. experts hired, even if they don't get access to the restricted area, we would still have an inside person.

Good suggestion there Twitch. We need to start dicussion on the planning of the operation. An insideman is a great idae. They could facilitate any assistance for any contention that arises. If we had an all out abort they could help with a withdrawel. Not to mention disable guards and possibly disrupt the power to shut the laser security system down.

Dr Anthea - ah who needs to learn things... just google it! Posted Mar 4, 2005
I think the main problem will be getting in
the fence should be easy enough to short circit but after that I'm not sure
I propose the old tactic of trying to get in during the changing of the guards and getting under cover as quickly as possable.
the security of the building could be a problem I am guessing that there are no handely unalarmed coal cellers or chimenys that we can use to get in and I dont expect they leave the backdoor unlocked so someone will need to come up with something pritty spectacualr, I am guessiing a really big distraction might just do the trick

Well I was going to sit and be control on this one as I thnk I would be best utilized to direct the action from the closest cover. Plus As a sniper I can cover our agents. An inside man could cause the electricity to go bonkers whilst we will have atleast a 30 second delay to cut the fence and get in that way. We will need precise timing and excellent communications to pull it off.

I'll be NPCing. Hopefully with more of a plan and certainty of who you'll be needing I can organise the NPCs better this time

I will deffinately want The Doctor, Skull, Pinkin, and Twitch. Course that is a respectful request. Pretty Please.

We already know who is backing the research so that is not a concern. What we need to find out is what research is being conducted.
Backgrounds we could find out if needed .
We believe a lockdown would be a result of an alarm going off. It can be manually over-ridden by security officers or scientsists, but that requires bio-data again.
