A Conversation for Ireland Researchers
Meet up
NPY Started conversation Mar 20, 2002
Just wanted to know.....if a meet up was arranged in Ireland, where would be a good place to have it and when?
i would suggest Coleraine, but that's at the very North and some of you would have to travel really far.
Any suggestions?

Gnomon - time to move on Posted Mar 20, 2002
There's not very many of us, so it might be better to have it in Dublin, the home of Guinness, where lots of Welsh and English researchers can come over and join us.

Begrudgingly, I would have to agree with Gnomon - it has good access to the UK and elsewhere, and it is relatively easy to get to from most parts of the country.

ok if you say so
but should we wait to see if there's anybody else interested?

I'm interested. I'm a bit busy on June 21st, but other than that my diary is free for a or two.
Perhaps we could sort out this: http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/A522091 ?

What time is the big event, Dunx, so I can gate-crash?

Is mise Duncan Posted Apr 3, 2002
Actually the time is not yet set - but if you see a great big white Dublin Bus wedding bus parked outside you'll know it's us

Beatrice Posted Apr 3, 2002
I'll be in the Coleraine area during May.
So that's me and Not Panicing Yet in the Anchor Bar is it.....
Any more takers?

oh I'm sure you could find a plausible excuse, sorry, imperative reason to persuade your paymasters to fund your trip. Research? Emotional distress? Voices in your head? An important potential new client?

NPY Posted Apr 8, 2002
doesn't greece kinda defeat the purpose of an ireland meet up though?
Meet up
NPY Posted Apr 22, 2002
so you'll be coming for the guinness rather than the company? well that's just fine then! (Sarcasm just doesn't work on paper!)

2legs - Hey, babe, take a walk on the wild side... Posted May 3, 2002
Going for the guiness, not the people? How can that be? Every one knows I'm tea-total...
(your right, sarcasm doesn't work on paper, even when it is vertual paper)

Is there a proposed date? I only ask because my diary is extremely full (of my wedding) in the next short while.
