On a related note, 'sie' and 'hir' are by far the most commonly used gender-neutral pronouns, according to a number of web-sources (search for 'gender neutral pronouns'), so I think I'll be using 'sie' rather than 'shi' in future. Ever a conformist...

I pronounce 'sie' as cross between 'zee' and 'see' - similar to the German.
(hmm - 'sie' in German can mean you(polite), she, or they... what's the fourth pronoun it stands for?)
