A Conversation for Being a Non-Residential or Single Parent

Hi, I am doing well. I have just got another job which will mean a lot more responsibility. I am trying to get the children used to helping more - some hope!
As to the absent parent - now see even less of him than before- the children have trouble relating to him when he does come around. Just learnt that he is thinking of becoming a driving instructor, so that will be useful in a year or so when the children are learning to drive. I have learnt to take my opportunities where I can!
Hope things are going well with you

Hi
I'm pleased to hear that!
Don't assume that he will teach them to drive for nothing!
My ex-husband is now a taxi-driver and my older kids thought they were going to get free taxi rides.
I'm ok, just got a cold, and I have to take A to Cubs tonight.
I hate venturing out after dark
I have to stay with him and that 90 minutes drags like hell.
It's so noisy and very stressful trying to keep him in line and behaving & not disrupting the place.
Tonight is the last night until after new year though.
I'm glad the kids are less affected.

I have not been able to get on the PC much recently - teenagers hogging it!
I am not holding my breath re driving lessons - my ex has never been the fastest worker in getting anything done. The children could both be at Uni before he ever gets his licence!
Still working on teenage angst with my son - he noise levels in the house go through the roof when we are disagreeing on a matter. He is still not that bothered when his Dad does come round ( about once a month with food for the pets). I think a lot of the problems now are to do with hormones!

Yes, I'm sure.
Don't worry, you will come out the other side, with good friends.
I did, anyway.
I am dreading my little one reaching puberty.
I have no idea what to expect.
He has a hard enough time grasping the world as it is, and he hates change.
