OK. So.
What is the theme? The same as the other two stories here submitted. All my stories are one story. Until they're not.
Why is this? This theme has been stuck in my head, haha. Perhaps now I will be able to widen my repetoire and write about interesting things such as lizards and and biscuit crumbs.
Am I at peace with this piece? Yes.
Is it complete? From my side it is as complete as it will ever be, although it could be shorter.
Is it true to you in thought, word and intent? Yes. My life is really like this.
Please send grasshopper-shaped edits, comments or suggestions.
Is it OK to use the name of a real live rockband ? With a real live Grasshopper fact? Ah, Mercury Rev. Fine band.

When I say in these introductions, I mean true to me. True to my new kind of writing style. I was just doing an interview with myself. hahah. It might not necessarily be true to you. and what is truth? hah. yes. indeed.
I just read all these three recently submitted pieces to the neighbour's cat. . They definitely were't true to him because he walked away. But then cat-truth might be different to human-truth.

I love this because:
It is clear, vivid, and suggestive. (I hesitate to say 'evocative', but it did evoke the early 70s for me.)
When I was finished reading, I knew exactly what I thought you meant.
This story was completely unlike anything I would have written, given the same material, and therefore a wonderful surprise.

Nothing like a bit of '70s style evocation!
Thanks again for your time
I'd better hop off now. hahah.

This is both clear and beguiling.
It's clear because we have a vivid picture of the lady in the park, and a clear picture of the narrator on the bus.
Yet, it's beguiling, because it hints at how inspiration works. And we're still left with the possibilities of the phrase "the lady mourns for grasshopper."
I was so beguiled by the phrase that I wrote my own version, which has nothing to do with rock bands and is very sad.

Hah! I just got it. Thanks again mvp. What you said - the clear picture of the narrator on the bus! yes! yes! yes!
This will help me. I have a mission. Now trying to write from the outside in. Rather than from the inside out. This is the blinding flash of realisation that I need. I would tell you more, but the blinding flash of realisation hasn't quite got as far as telling me what I'm talking about. But it will, oh yes it will. .
Thanks!

Ok, I've posted it on A77079063.
It's not autobiographical.

Oh ! Happy day! Thankyou! Thankyou!
And you know what? Earlier, before I arrived here, I slunk into the AWW listings - the way I often do - and saw two grasshopper stories! yours and Dmitri's!
How magic is that!?
Now, of course, I have run out of time, and I want to give these jewels my full attention, so I shall return later to read them, and comment and everything.
And thankyou, in advance. Well, thankyou anyway. But thankyou in advance for ..
oh well, you know what I mean . you do?
.
