I'm submitting this here because a whole bunch of people thought it was unsuitable for the EG.

Hi again, Hussassan:
I was aware of the origin of the word 'magick', from Persia/Iran, but thought the root was magi or magus meaning sorcerer, not knowledge. I'd be interested in knowing your source.

Turns out it originally specifically meant knowledge of the art of the Magoi, or Persian priests.

Is that pre or post Zoroaster Persian priests?

I read the PR thread Hussassan and I wondered if you weren't a bit quick taking it out of PR. You only had one serious reviewer there who gave a definite opinion on its EGability that was actually based on the entry. An opinion based on a dislike of your choice of subject. I didn't actually know one of the EG guidelines was not to write about a subject until all worthier subjects had been covered.
As a subject it's just not one I can get into but the entry was never the less interesting in throwing light on how some people see their universe.
Hope you don't mind if I say that I think the examples you give of its working actually weaken it in being too small a display of evidence. For instance your own experience - if it had happened several times it might be grounds to believe there was something in it but on a single occasion it could equally have been that one of the whistleblowers actually wanted to get where the bus was going on time. For the other - it involved one of the personalities of this, who would have a vested interest in being able to show it working, didn't it? Which would tend to leave an unconvinced reader unconvinced.
I think you have a choice of ways to go. Either you pursue the EG goal in which case I think you'd really be better standing aside from it, trying to put aside all your personal beliefs and presenting it completely objectively as an informative piece on how some people follow this brand of the occult and the system or lack of system of belief that underlies it. Or you forget the EG guidelines altogether and do something creative with this which might be fun.
Good luck with it anyway and thanks for the read. I will know what a sigil is in future .
