I don't believe this sort of expression can be formulaic and achieve a good result, but I'm not sure

Has this worked well for you in the past?

I wrote this for a friend who wanted to write to someone but had no idea how to do it. It's a bit tongue-in-cheek really, it's not meant to be taken too literally. Of course you're absolutely right, you can't express genuine feelings through a styalised formula, like this where one size fits all, so to speak. Having said that, it really can help to get you started.

Ok, I first though "well, that's a bit short to cover a suject like that". But I stand corrected.

I think it's a good advise for those who are unsure of how to write a love letter. And I feel that I have written letters in that style ... so the entry can't be bad!
Seriously, though. Yeah, it is somewhat styalised, but with enough free space to really express what you feel (provided of course you are able to put your emotions into words). I think it's good advice.

If you were top follow the formula in detail, you could make each point as long and detailed as you liked, so the finished letter itself could run into several pages.

Hoon are you still about and doing anything with this?

I'm not sure that this is the right forum for this piece. With work I could see this going into the edited guide, so would the Writing workshop be more appropriate?

I used to be on here all the time, but my new work commitments take up so much time I just drop by now and again at the moment. I don't have the time to work on the idea of the formulised love letter, if you wish to take it further please feel free to do so. If Stephen Speilberg makes a movie out of it and you become a millionaire, you can always leave me a keg behind the bar!
