To teachers everywhere.

Hey... You again?
As I once said...I normally don't do this... But, since you're quite new here, I'll do it.
Try reading this for a start, you will understand why:

The stuff you write is quite funny and interesting. Plus: It is already a part of the guide. You don't have to put it into PR to publish it. The problem is that this entry is a personal oppinion on Homework (full of 1st person and all that). In order for this to get into the edited guide it must suit a more general style (That is also the reason why many of the edited entries are so earnest).
See you around...

my attitude to the "history of golf" example would be to write something good covering everything that touched the world "golf" except for the sport, ending with a comment that it was also a sport with people hitting little balls over a lawn.
The other point, and the point of the article is that there is no such thing as boring homework, unless you make it so.
What you have described in the article is a BAD TEACHER. these can usually be cured by using the technique of the white mutiny (not that I would advocate doing so).

I had a relief teacher in Grade 8 (that is, people who are fourteen years old) who walked into the classroom and started teaching us fractions. Like so: This is the numerator. This is the denominator. And this is the fraction bar. (Word-for-word quote.) As I remember it I had learnt that six years before. And not only was this a Grade 8 class, it was also supposed to be the most challenging class in the year.

I didn't say mutiny, I said "white mutiny". this is where you obey every command given (especially the silly ones) to the letter. this sort of person usually is very inconsistant, and will normally drop themselves in it rapidly.

Sounds like a good way to make your teachers very specific in their instructions. Might work, though. Thanks again!

whoever heard of fun homework?
people being taught by the best teachers.
only bad teachers make all homework (and schoolwork) boring, by virtue of making the entire subject boring.

The author of this entry seems to have left the building over 18 months ago.
I am suggesting that it is moved to Flea Market - what do other Miners think?

I can assure you that I have not actually left the building, although I may have been spending less time there than I did in the past. Also, I am planning to make a 'comeback' in the near future.
Sincerely,
Lord Voldemort

Boring Homework is good.
It is a preparation for work in the real world, where work is often boring and there is never enough time to complete the tasks.
