Very good indeed.
Many people would have overwritten this. Instead, the restraint and simplicity of its telling make it both touching and uplifting.

Very good, anyhoo Scandrea 
I've never had a dog (had a ferret for a while) but I imagine that dogs are very good to cry on. Interesting perspective, too. You never really think about what it's like to have you coat cried upon, etc.
