When I saw the latest Stretcher challenge I was glad I was out of the competition. It sounded really difficult - being funny and factual at the same time. So thanks for your poem! 
I don't really do jokes either. Some of them are so well known they've become boring - like one of the current crop on the internet about swine flu:
Q -"What does the doctor give you for swine flu?"
A. "Oinkment!" 
This one is probably only comprehensible to Brits:
Q "What's brown, smelly and comes out of cows backwards?"
A "The Isle of Wight Ferry!"

Kermit the frog contracted swine flu from having unprotected sex with Miss Piggy! What a muppet...
