Baseball as it doesn't have a true world series/world championship?

Baseball, cricket, golf, hockey, snooker, squash
Snooker? Because it's a "game" - the rest are "sports"?

Oh dear! Now I recall why I shouldn't set odd-man-out questions.
Not sure how to clue this...
I'll supply the answer tomorrow.

The answer *is* squash: all the other games can be won without having to score the final point/goal/try/etc (you have to win the final rally to win at squash/badminton/tennis/etc).
It seemed like a good idea at the time...

So does that mean no one won, or that I did, seeing as I said squash in post 3119? It was for different reasons, admittedly, but the right sport.

Ah, no, not me - wolf in sheeps clothing said squash in post 3113, so there's any winner it's wolf.

"...not if it's a 'dead rubber'"
You can win the 'dead-rubber' game only by winning the final point.

Whose turn is it to set another brainteaser?

In your pencil case you have a compass (the mathematical drawing tool - not the navigational aid). Unfortunately the mechanism has jammed up and you can't change the width.
How can you use it to draw circles of different sizes?

Rudest Elf Posted Aug 16, 2010
1. Make pinpricks in a piece of cord at the desired radii.
2. Stick the pointy end of the compass through one end of the cord.
3. Making sure that the pointy end of the compass is perpendicular to the paper, push the tip of a pencil (or writing implement of your choice) through the pinprick at the desired radius.
4. Need I say more?
Then again, you don't need a compass as a pin would do the job equally well.

Thanks for putting me down gently.
If there's a computer at my next destination, I'll check for the righteous answer.
