I have been to:
The top of the 'Pepsi Big One' (last October, on my own as none of the others could stomach the 1 1/2 hour queue by that time in the afternoon)
Harry's Bar, the only bar at UMIST (I'm not sure I would go as far as to call it a 'Grot Bar')
The Lemon Tree Cafe, York rail station (passing through looking for someone who I took almost an hour to find)
Underneath the Eiffel Tower (and up to the top)
Fossils near Lulworth Cove, Dorset (although they may not be the same fossils you're talking about)
Viewpoint overlooking Stairhole (and down onto the beach for a paddle. Well, I _was_ only 10 at the time...)
The body exhibition, The Dome (we don't have to ask which Dome )
I have also visited the Valclavske Namesti ('Wenceslas Square')in Prague, but I only had time to pop into Dunkin' Donuts before rushing off to the chiming of the clock in Hradcanske Namesti ('Old Town Square') and then on to the River Vltava sight-seeing ferry.
How about these then:
Megazone, the window where you can get a really great overview of the ramps up to the seconds level as long as you don't stick your gun out and get shot from below, Chelmsford
Lying down with skis in the air at the bottom of the easiest ski slope in Aviemore, nearish Inverness
The little restaurant next to the cathedral that does a very good continental breakfast in the Plaza Des Armas, Cuzco, Peru
The little cinema, any of the Brittany Ferries from Poole or Portsmouth.

Yes to Avimore (but sans skis) and the little cinema on Brittany Ferries from Poole, Portsmouth, Cherbourg and Caen(sp).
How about the grave of Oscar Wilde (and Robbie Ross, although he's not mentioned on the tomb he's in there too)?

ellen aka bobby watson Posted Mar 20, 2003
yes to the Eiffel tower,
the Mona Lisa (right in front of it, because the museum had been closed unexpectedly a couple of days before and a lot of people thought it wouldn't be open that day either ),
the railway station in Lille (didn't notice the lamp post/heating thingies though),
the Vaclavski namesti and all the other places mentioned before in Prague (except for the dunkin doughnuts, I went for the original czech cuisine)
how about the 'snake' seats in Parc Guëll in Barcelona or in the Gard, underneath the Pont du Gard?

What did you see? I've seen The Rock, Bridget Jones' Diary and I think one other film that I can't remember.

Bob - Twas many years ago when I was a mere child (ages 8 - 12) but I recall something Disney-ish and other such child-friendly movies.

Captain Kebab Posted Mar 20, 2003
The Flat Cap and Muffler Club have been to Perveril of the Peak in Manchester ('bout 3 pages back!)
Castles - Conwy, Beaumaris, Caernarvon, Harlech, Criccieth, Warwick. I like castles. Oh yeah, Limmasol and another one in Cyprus, can't remember the flipping name.
Eiffel Tower, yes, and Blackpool Tower, and all 3 Blackpool piers.
They were too easy -
Nethertown railway station, 2 stops north of Sellafield. There's nothing there (not even a platform) and you have to wave at the train to make it stop.
Both pubs (there's only two) in Portmahomack (near Tain in Scotland).

to Blackpool Winter Gardens, and indeed all three piers.
to Edinburgh Castle (but then who hasn't? )
tp half way down the stairs that lead to the gents toilet at Kings Cross train station, less than two weeks ago in fact.

If we're listing castles, I can also mention that I've been to Castle Hedingham in Essex, as well as Suscingon in Brittany.
