I still have the feeling that March is going to hit us hard. So I'm not making any travel or gardening plans just yet.

Our normal planting isn't until early May usually anyway. So no hurry here.

Mum's the gardener in the family I just pick the roses and arrange them in the roes bowl in the summer

I was born with a black thumb. I even somehow managed to kill a 50-year-old golden barrel cactus in under 7 months. 
If you follow the link at the top, to "A Refuge and a Retreat", you'll see that you, or anyone else, is quite welcome to make their own little niche. A nice place to batter around a few annoying thoughts, that isn't firmly tied to a PS.

My kichen is knee deep in cakes, cookies,pies and the like, when I get in a foul mood I head for the kitchen, I had a row with my daughter and mum took her side so I sulked in the kitchen and ended up making an apple pie, custard and peeling a pan of spuds

Apple pie is ALWAYS welcome. And a pan of spuds, hmmmmm, haven't had scalloped potatoes in a lonnnnnng while.

I don't partiularly like the actual planting mum takes care of that but I can make a nice arrangement with the roses and sweet peas in our garden, the parsley, rosemary and mint I leave to their own devices and the come up year after year
