Yeah, well, y'see if you moved faster than the speed of light, you would be a tachyon (a particle with a mass of i, the square root of -1) Then you would accelerate as you loose energy, which would cause more loss of energy due to cosmic radiation.
Then, seeing as you've got an imaginary mass you might be able to escape a black hole.
