DB Levels were to high for some. Several concerts cancelled, Weeks of work ruined.
So I protested by wearing a rather loud shirt.

You were doubtless offending against The Loud Shirt (Wearing of) Regulations 2005.
An amusing sideswipe against bureaucracy.

Such a shame about the concerts . If I'm ever in your town, I'll wear my black t-shirt with the extrememly vibrant african market scene all over the front.

Lovely bit of wit, thanks.
Being pedantic: 'around my shirt and *me*'. (Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to the Vanishing Objective Case)
Don't mind loud shirts. Hate loud cars - the ones that vibrate at intersections.

My shirt and *me*
I’ll take a vote.
1. Before I knew what was happening a cordon with danger do not enter signs was erected around *my shirt and I*.
2. Before I knew what was happening a cordon with danger do not enter signs was erected around *my shirt and me*.
3. Before I knew what was happening a cordon with danger do not enter signs was erected around *me and my shirt*.
4. Before I knew what was happening a cordon with danger do not enter signs was erected around *my shirt and its contents*.
Ps: I will also take votes on adding a fuller description of the shirt.
Imagine the cost of having to hire an architect to restructure a 1970’s Don Giovanni- Mens navy blue, orange, pink, silver, gold and blue abstract print long sleeve polyester print strobe light disco shirt with Fold down broad lapelled collar , button down front and rainbow cuffs.

'Me and my shirt' would be even worse! Grammatically speaking, of course. 'My shirt and its contents' is clever. I like it, though I don't know if everyone would get it.
The trick is to take the 'other stuff' out its just 'around...me.' it doesn't make sense to say 'around I,' so 'around my shirt and I' doesn't make sense either. At least, that's the only way I can keep them straight.

Though I've read out of sequence, I don't think it matters.
A great tale. 'Cat walked' !

We like reading these stories. Grammar? Pah!
On to UnderGuide business: congratulations . The <./>underguide</.> miners think this entry ought to have a week on h2g2's front page in the UnderGuide spot, and we all agree.
What our QA, who keeps our mining of entries up to standard, said about it was that it was fun to read and he thought others would enjoy it too. It was silly, exuberant and undemanding. He did also say it didn’t quite rank with your very best for him "because the behaviour it describes isn’t grounded in a recognisable reality, unlike the Tuscan hilltop, for example." but went on to say "The slight sense of incomprehension of the narrator-character is endearingly clever, though, and the hint of anthropomorphism lent to the shirt makes the garment worth a revisit."
Thank you for contributing your writing here, the originality and fun of it is much appreciated.
