I was tempted to put this under Peer Review, but I guess I'm just an Idealist.

In Peer Review, . Though I see what you mean, you've definitely gone for realism .
Here to offer congratulations and Still WRD, on your ‘Dead Frog’ being selected for the <./>underguide</.>.
An UnderGuide Polisher will be in touch for any final revisions or tweakings you/they might suggest/want before creating a UG copy of the entry. The copy will be featured on h2g2's Front Page one week in the next couple of months.
It’s a neat story and well written. Our UnderGuide comments did come up with a slight nitpick, which I’ll pass on if you’re interested, but not otherwise. It was just a nitpick, this is a good read.
Congrats again, and thank you for contributing here .

The nitpick - just a remark about the lack of names and that there is room for more characterisation. But looking at your first post here, more general application was maybe your target?
Anyway, comment passed on merely for interest, it makes no difference to the UnderGuide selection!

Great - loved the style!
I found the lack of names quite effective (as a good NONresearcher should), as quite often in the traditional fairy tales there were no names, just "the poor carpenter's youngest son," etc.

Originally, her name was Sophia (wisdom), and the nice guy's name was Philius (lover), and no one else had a name. I don't think I'll replace them, though. I like it better with no names, for the reason stated by - Afgahn Cap?

Thanks - and yes, Afghan Cap is fine, if you find it easier to remember.

Where are the two rejected suitors now? I'd like to meet them
When will you be writing the next chapter?
Correct me if I am wrong, but I think Peer Review is for more informative writing...
fantastic!

I never really thought about following up on them. Really, the prince would be the most interesting one, I don't know how many people would really care what happened to the knight. I'll think about it.
And the peer review thing was just a cynical joke on my part.

A good read, provocative and mindtwisting Very well written
A sucker for happy ends I comfort myself that now she can afford to buy protection and indulge in love. A practical princess - but likeable?
for twisting my mind.
