Hmmm... I think this is a good start on an entry, but I think it could use some more work. I'm still not entirely sure what it is you're describing here -- is this more of a tourist attraction, or a local park, or the kind of thing that not many people know is there? What on earth is a cairn? What is the fort like? Is it something people can go around in and check out, or is it just something people can kind of admire from afar and maybe take a snapshot of?

I agree with Mikey - you've made a good start, but there's so much more than you can add!
I'd also suggest changing the title to Tinto Hill, South Lanarkshire, Scotland - that fits in with the standard h2g2 geographical classification, and gives passing readers a bit more of a clue as to what the entry's about.

This entry is exactly the sort of thing the Guide is looking for, local knowledge about something you won't find listed anywhere else. But it is not presented in a way that will attract people's attention. For this, you will need more information, some structure and perhaps some titles. One way to do this would be to expand the entry into an entry on the whole of South Lanarkshire.
Mikey, a cairn is a pile of stones. Ancient Europeans tended to put them on just about any tall hill. But if the term is not generally understood in America, there should be an explanation provided in the entry.

I liked it. Short and sweet.
Maybe you could expand a little (say a four line paragraph or something) to explain for example why it is called Tinto, and eventually why it had some significance in the past...
More assorted questions:
Do many people go there? Is there a hot-dog hut? Or is it just a place for hiking?

Yes there's more to be presented here.
It is part of a group of hills. Does this mena it is part of a range, like the Grampians or the Mendips or something? Or are they just an isolated clump? If the latter, do they all have names or is Tinto the king-pin?
What's their geology?

Are you still out there, Researcher 226229? It would be a shame to give up your entry now, as it's very good and would only need a little work to get into the Edited Guide.

This one's somewhat too low on substance, if you ask me. However, as the researcher hasn't posted for > 2 months, the question is back to the entry or to the Flea Market?

I'd say flea market. The idea has got legs if there is someone out there who could build upon what's already here.

I have not wasted anytime and have done a new version and give the entry a new fuller subject name, to include south lanarkshire.
