A Conversation for Games Room

Dollis Hill

Those of you that are regular players of - How do you play "Mornington Crescent" will be aware of the recurring Dollis Hill problem, so for the more adventurous among you I prepose we play an alternative version of MC, namely Dollis Hill, same rules to convention game apply incuding 221b rule but obviously factors such as tranversing and diagonals will take us into whole new realms, it would seem possible also for Nid situations to occur. Interestingly "Mornington Crescent can within this game take a long earn rest and be used a normal move, but be careful it may create what has become known as the Dollis Hill Eternity Loop which has caused so many problems with the standard game, so the skill is to play an end game move of "Dollis Hill" without starting a loop, good luck everone, so I'll start with what would normally be an unconventional opening gambit but works well now

well played, as we know your move would have been frowned upon in a normal game but it seems to work OK now, so with also an unexpected response just to tempt fate

Willesden Green eh? Normally I'd counter with Burnt Oak, but I think perhaps Arsenal would be more fitting with this set of rules.

I have to say the standard of play is very good, it justs shows how seasoned players can adapt so well

Eastcote....be careful, think twice to avoid the obvious response

Ah yes. Tricky. I'd normally play Mansion House. But that's quite a sneaky trap isn't it!?

So...

Lambeth North

Post 8

Simetra

this is amazing, Lambeth Walk, we all know the result of playing that normally, the problem is the game is now starting to get more comlex with that it only leaves me with two possible options will risk it with

Baker Street (221b rule not applied in this case)

Snaresbrook

I'm not going to fall for that almost half hearted attempt at a trap, so I'll counter it with Ravenscourt.

So there!

I'm tempted to play Latimer Road, but in this case I think it's safer to play:

Bank!

Dollis Hill

Post 15

that has a very "Hilly" feel about it, but I will ignore and reply with

Boston Manor

The Hill factor is an interesting method but it has got us no nearer to a end game position, this is harder than I expected

Kensal Rise?

Post 20

Simetra

sorry but you walk right into it leaving me with a perfect play of

Dollis Hill

now is it possible to start a new game without the loop kicking in, this is where really skill and knowledge of the game matters
