This is Linkword, a variation on crosswords that can be played on the net. Each answer starts with the last few letters of the previous answer. The question setter states how many of the last letters are used at the start of the next word. A clue is given, and it can be be cryptic or "normal". Example:

Do you mean hostelry (as in have you got confused?) I can't think of *any* words for an inn beginning with ry and neither can my friends, the dictionary etc.
