its late and ive been drinking so i cant remember the details but i saw something a couple of weeks ago about the start and finish times for the experimaent being provided by a satellite in orbit and therefore subject to time dilation because the clock was moving relative to the 2 points. not sure if that makes sense to anyone else but 6 cans of strongbow certainly helps

Prof Brian Cox explained about relativity affecting GPS on QI last week and said it has to be taken into account when working out speeds etc.
