SEx: Astronomy Surrenders?

I´m not sure how much dark matter would affect the beginning of the universe. However it may have a big effect on the end of it. If there is dark matter, the extra gravity of it might be enough to halt the expansion and cause the universe to collapse in on itself in a Big Crunch. As opposed to just expanding and dying a heat death.
