Genderwise I should be, but going by my previous athletic ability and small feet I can't see me managing high heels either.

I've been searching for a good pair of thigh length boots to fit me for yonks.... Everypair without exception would fit me as far as I can tell, cept my foot won't get through/past the 'bend' where the upright thigh bit of the boot kinda joins to the bit that one's foot sits in all I need a do is find a apair I think that has a zip that goes further down to the bottom; Rather as it does on my favorite shoes, my ankle length zip up boots... which now have special ventilation fitted to the bottom they need resoleing

This is why chelsea boots are so fantastic, no need for a zip, as they have the material to allow them to stretch to slip your foot in - no fear of breaking them (although be warned - the black of the ones you get for £10 in Camden stalls wears off within the first month if wear.)

An odd coincidence, I also have a much loved pair of zipped ankle boots that need new soles. As much as I love jodhpur boots, stylisticly the zipped ankle boot is more attractive and in practice much easier to get in and out of.

I've got ankle boots for school, but I end up wearing them all the time. If its not hot then they're really comfortable.

I think I might have tried on a few pairs of chelsea-like boots when I went out in search of, and bought my current boots... I'm trying to remember why they didn't work... ahh... yesh, I could get em on, but they were too loose, so I tried an size 8, or maybe 8.5 and it was too tight and I couldn't get my foot in but the size 9 was too loose esp on side to side movements of the foot when I was wearing it... they were... I think DM boots or very simular too, I tried at least half a dozen differnt pairs like that, plus about the same of the longer lengthed boots that I couldn't get my foot in then about four or so of the ankle ones with zips before getting the pair I went for as they were nice and narrow for my ickle feet I've also got a pair of Zamberland (think thats how its spelt ) hiking boots I got in 1993 and wore basically constantly until about 2001, which are extremely comfetable... probably the most comfetable pair of shoes I've had, but which really ain't the kinda things you want to wear when going out socialising... they may be alright when I was traipsing up mountains and hills or across moreland in em, but really not clubwear actually... I just remembered I've still got a pair of hardly ever worn brown cowboy type boots at my Dads, I could just* get my foot in to em... ooo and I wonder... I had another funny pair of shorter than ankle length boots... not seen em in yonks

Very weird, I guess, for me, as a guy, I never feel totally comfetable in shoes unless they've got a decent sized heel, admitidly I'm not (normally) talking like girly high heels or anything, but with the hiking boots they're about three quaters an inch taller at the back which angles my foot just right, and probably a simular or more higher heel on the zip up leather boots that I like... maybe I should try getting a pair of womans boots with a 1inch or a bit more heel and see if I can find a pair that don't look too 'girlyish' on me ooo anyone ever had PVC boots?

I prefer to go barefoot as much as possible...
But I do have favourite well broken-in red flamenco dancing shoes, waterproofed Vibram soled leather hiking shoes and really ratty, but perfect fitting, pink satin ballet pointe shoes that I'm quite attached to!
