Soooo...what caused the meltdown of the BBC system? The Radio 5 Live and Radio 4 Boards are shut.

I think it was concerted trollery PP. The only one that's still open is the R3 boards and that's because even trolls are afraid of that lot.

Radio 3? I'll give it a go - there's not much about Brahms and Liszt that I don't know.
Wow! Poetry.
I wonder if I could get me own slot on Jezza's midday melange of melancholy?

Ooooh. just had a look at the R3 Board. Too cerebral pour moi.
They're discussing 'Parsifal'. Coincidentally one of the few operas I have ever been to. We had gone to Vienna a few years back and simply haaaad to do the opera, dahling. We had no idea about the opera and it was Dull City, Wyomimg. I fell asleep and woke up for the intermission. We had a drinkypoo and then sat down for another hour of tedium. Everyone started clapping furiously and we left gratefully and as we exited the State Opera we were stopped by some students who asked for our tickets. In fractured English they explained it still had an hour or so to go.
Me? Philistine Phlopp?
Oui

I had a look there as well.
Reminded me of those old black and white Open University programmes.
I now have bad images of corduroy-elbowed cardigans and ill-fitting flares in my head.
I wish the coffee bar was open.....

V8 is a melange of both PP.
Re your spiffing idea for Jezza's show, why don't you write to hima nd introduce yourself as Phillip Chakrabarti? I'm quite sure you'd be welcomed with open arms.

There was an advert whose jingle went...
A finger of fudge is just enough to give your kids a treat
I think it was withdrawn* soon after Len Fairclough ended up in the News of the World.
PP
* The advert, I mean.
