I feel that it is only polite after getting to know your PC quite well that I drop you a line here

Hope everything is ok on it, and I hope I didn't come across as condescending in any way (Have re-read my posts and am not sure)

I have applied to be a Guru so if you have any feedback for me on that aspect please let me know

And anytime you have a problem please feel free to leave a message for me if you are not getting a responcse from the tech forum or askH2G2, (although I subscribe to both so...)

well guardian angels are supposed to help greet newbies & let an ACE know if a newbie has,nt been ACED yet also any 1 can adopt us as their own guardian angels if they wanted

fraid ive not been doing my angelic duties very well though due to the fact that at the moment im usually off more than im online

I always thought that you had to be an ACE before applying for GURU but dont quote me on that.........it was just a thought.......but in any case I think you'd make a good ACE so good luck with that also

I am actually more nervous about being an Ace than a Guru.

Computers I know (have worked on PC support for the last 5 years, just in case you wondered how I rattled all theat gobbledeygook off of the top of my head)

I always pitch to the lowest common denomonitor. I never assume a person knows anything, always explain step by step (was from my job experience I suppose) which is why I asked about the tone of that post,since you are the only person so far that I have posted technical advice to on hootoo)

well im a novice where computers are concerned but you explained everything clearly to me once again thank you

im glad i got you on that thread giving me help because i was dreading some one telling me a load of technical jargon that i would,nt have understood

if you can explain things & help a novice like me where pc's are concerned im sure you,ve no need to be nervous about becoming an ACE

Sorry to chime in, but I'd be breaking my guruingly ways if I didn't.

You don't have to be an ACE to be a guru. I was a guru long before I became an ACE, and frankly being a guru prepares you well for being an ACE, in case the newbie has any hard questions, you can send a mail to the guru group

(But then you did say in the first post that you were a novice at computers which is why I phrased my post absolutley step by step)

kiltjedi well the pc im on now is in castleford yorkshire so i think thats a bit far & my pc when ive got it set up will be in thameside lancashire so i think that would be too far also since i dont drive either
