loup, kow, I got in at about 1:30am. It still is bugged. From the interative menu > games to play > yoome, When you select it, it kina goes back to TV, well .33 of TV LOL, then it loads.
As for logging in, we have 12 max characters for our username, oh yes and there is a minimum too. It did not like " - ", " _ " never mind . $ £ ^ etc.
For some reason my LD names are already in use?
The word search was OK, for a few mins, but no real distraction. Free feddy, erm, naaa leave him in there!
If you have played the original Wolfenstien back in 1993 on a 386, you would have experienced "leading edge" compared to this freddy nonsense, never mind the games of today.
The best game on there is a game that is yet to exist, it's called "BARRED" no that is ironic, considering how yoome likes to bar users!
I did nor play tetris, it was a tough choice 50 pence for 30mins of TW interactive, or FREE on my Psion! But then again a 28" TV or a DVD player or somthing else is up for grabs. So it must be, must be, must be worth it
BUT, and it is a big but...
Do the games, and phone fun parts of LD keep us there?
For me no.
I am left wondering about the LD library, where is all that stuff going too?
I read a poem by sombody close to me, and even if it was not origional - I dunno, it shows that some real people used LD,
I now am left hoping h2g2 will be a place for intellect too. You see I'm fussy about who and where I invest my time.

I wonder why some people need to enter their PIN, and I did not?
Thinks, maybe as I have Parental control to minimum (I have noooo control over my parents LOL).
So I decide to chance the setting. But My box does not accept the PIN I entered, phone 150 to ask them.
The 150 'person' decided to enter int a conversation. So after an hour of me asking why to I get 400's or no access. It transpires that if a 150 person decides the problem is not the problem you complained about, they delete it, in favor of saying the user never had a problem, not even the current RE-COMPLAINT of the origional problem. It get's past to "fault diagnosis". Well 10 days after complaining about somthing as simple as CONSTANT 400, I did make a mistake of saying on a Friday and Saturday night it gets worse, so the 150 person told me I said it only ever happens on a Friday and Saturday. No THAT IS NOT WHAT WAS SAID.
How can:
"The problem is worse on Friday and Saturday"
sound like:
"It only happens on a Friday and Saturday"
Several points where twisted by this person, who then, when I asked "IS THE FACT AFTER 2 YEARS OF TELEWEST END USERS GET TO IT NOT WORKING CONSISTANTLY SO PERSISTANT PROBLEMS ARE WHAT WE EXPECT IS THAT FAIR WHEN WE PAY MONEY FOR SOMTHING THAT IS SAID TO WORK BUT NEVER DOES CONSISTANTLY" (Thinking of many other people that bought into this as well).
I asked YET AGAIN for a definition of a persistant problem.
My aswer was that I'm twisting it round????
No it is a straight question.... define what TW call a persistant problem...
Here is the answer...
"IF YOU GET A 400 TODAY, THEN 24 HOURS LATER YOU GET ANOTHER 400 THAT IS A PERSISTANT PROBLEM"
I reminded this person it is persistant in that respect, and in the respect it has been like that since day 1.
I have been told that the service from TW has improved.
Starange, I still get as many 400's as I have always done, of 6050 in old money!
Strange that TWO service people have been in this house, one a new member of staff, see the diagnostics screen they are looking at, and one said to the other the fact that it shows red on the signal level is a problem, BUT this 150 person said "NO THAT IS OK AS SHE KNEW WHAT THE SIGNAL LEVEL SHOULD BE" ask me what level I was getting - HOW SHOULD I KNOW, I DONT HAVE ANY TEST EQUIPMENT!!! Was my reply. There is also the thing about "TAPS", wich have different signal stenths, so this 150 person seems to know EVERY ASPECT OF HOW THE DTV SYSTEM WORKS???? If so why is she on 150, and not running TW?
She made a valid point! End users should not be looking at the diagnostics screens. I agree.
So why is it a TW engineer left one a house in this state, without service, remarking "It will sort itself out"
On LD many people have moaned about an attitude from yoomedia. TW have an attitude problem too, in the sense the have lost the idea that if sombody is paying for somthing they expect to get what was promoted as being a whole service.
We don't know what is round every corner, if you buy a car you may crash it, that is the end-user at fault, but if you buy a car and the engine keeps cutting out would you be happy?
£29 was paid to have TW installed. If I knew how much hassel and grief I was going to have from being a TW customer, that money, plus the money for a keyboard, could have been put to some other use I think. Like handing it over to BT, who from 1973 to 2000 did nothing but provide a wonderful service, and in that time we only ever had one, yes one line fault, and that was down to the telegraph pole end, a loose connection.
The services on TW are hard to access, and that is a problem. Another problem is TW will most likley take that to mean the end-user can not use it. When what is meant is, the system fails, with error messages.
Since I have been given the impression by other parts of TV the 150 people are not the brightest of people, I try to avoid them, but after a while, I feel it is time to ask if it is just this unit in this house, just to bait TW into admiting the service is at fault, and maybe see about doing somthing posative to fix it. Now I know a fair number of TW users, and the suffer the same things, regarles of where in the country they are. Yes one of the things TW provided was a chat site, and people chat! One of the thing people chat about is TW.
Soon yoome2 chat will be here, a chargable service, so maybe less people will be chatting, and less people will be moaning about a poor service, that does not apear to improve with time.
I have been told I shoud get the internet more than once, if I'm not happy with the interactive service.
ANYTHING THAT INVOLVES GIVING TELEWEST MORE MONEY IS A NO FROM ME, AS I DONT SEE HOW THAT WOULD SOLVE THE FACT EVEN THE BASIC FUNCTION OF WATCHING TV IS PRONE TO FAULT.
"SMART CARD INVALID", what's that all about, just phone 150, be put on hold for a while, and be told to re-boot the box? Does that sound like somthing 150 may say?
One 150 perso stated that they are told to tell people to re-boot the box, and even made a stupid remark about if it catches fire, they would tell customers to re-boot the box, NOT GOOD is it.
So why are we so worked up about yoome. Possibly we all want it to just work. I say this without any prejudice, to either TW or yoomedia. They may well be investing in making it work. It's just after two years, of different "reasons" for the same thing from TW, and an unexpected wait for yoome, I think I have the right to be a tad ticked off about it all.
For the purpose of conversation, do you think TW is good or bad?

kow Posted Dec 21, 2002
I don't think you're seeing this from a business POV. Of all the services TW "provides", their most profitable is the broadband service(hence the get the "Get the Internet"), then it's the phone service they "provide" and lastly their TV "service", which they are going under for(especially anolog).
It's not exactlty NTL
But it's not $ky

loup, they plan to proide the Inetenet via STB soon, TV INTERNET.
Any company that has a poor product will go under, as nobody will buy it.
Telling customers to buy buy buy is all well and good, if the customer base is that stupid, to through money at a company that is abusive. In the implying we have no right to complain, is normal for it to be rubbish. Hmm great CS for TW yet again.
As with everything, don't believe the hype. At least yoomedia have been good enough to let us see it before buying. Or not.

Sorry kow, called you loup. Trow money at me I'll be better then LMAO
To respond to the get internet idea...
The 150 person asked "If you had the internet and it failed what would you do?"
Why she ased this I DO NOT KNOW. No mention of intenet had occured before this question. She was looking for a row maybe? Or just trying to state even the intenet has problems, so TW is bound to also???
I don't care about the internet, I care about the TW pakage not working as advertised.
ie It's sold with free e-mail. But it forms part of a package, so I would hope to be able to access it at will. Not be left in a situation where I get blank screens, that is if the get user bit don't die first.
LD suffered from blank screens, still does from time to time.
So your happy to pay £4.99 extra for somthing on this platform? Oh not me mate

800,000 telewest customers nationwide have all had the same 6050/400 problems,If every single household phoned 150 in unison their response would probably be to give us the 'disney' channel free for a month......WHY?...because that's the type of thing they do!

Well one thing is for sure;
We'd get more sense out of 'Mickey' and his mates than 'that lot'!
I've just been in Y2 again and I (and everyone else) cannot believe this 'thing' that they've 'presented' to us...
Peeps are getting 'warnings' for saying "IT'S A BIT SLOW" lol

kow Posted Dec 21, 2002
I haven't had a warning yet(and I was saying it was slow), but nothing is working in there, friends list's search, chat, everything is down
I'm glad they waited until it was bug free before launching
