As to the attic room, it would make a wonderful place to write or paint.

The attic room will belong to the married couple (P and L) as the way to it is through their bedroom and it's only fair that they have a bit of extra private space. I have the next room down, which still has a view, though not quite as fantastic! In addition to the big lounge-dining room on the ground floor, there are another two smaller reception rooms. All three will be everyone's, it's just the bedrooms which are 'mine', 'his' and 'theirs'.

looks like a nice house smiley - ok

What are your priorities - communal rooms, bedrooms, whole house overhauls of elctriciy/ plumbing or heating?

Get your bedroom done and you could move in and shut the door to the chaos outside each night. Is each person doing their own area themselves, or do you share the workload according to your respective skills / enthusiasm?

We're sharing the workload according to skills and time available. Our priority areas are kitchen, bathroom, central heating and electrics (the latter two being done by qualified people). The bedrooms are all habitable (not fantastic condition, but habitable), thank goodness. It's just that one of them is being used as a lounge by P and L at the moment while other areas of the house are being seen to.
