Despite the shortcomings of the English national teams, England is probably the only country with even a sniff of winning the Cricket, Rugby and Football World Cups (with all due respect to the efforts of Scotland, South Africa and Australia).
And now they don't even exist?

England exists in the hearts of the English but not in the minds of our politicans. Blair's best chance of getting England into Europe is in a piecemeal fashion, once he has acheived that he can focus on acheiving his real ambition and becoming president of Europe, I kid you not!
