Phe;%lerglem... smiley - erm

Gerbil*terblegerble... smiley - huh

*cough* ... hello...

Yes that was it... hello. Yes Hello. Once again : PHE;%LERGLEM! I mean hello! smiley - blush

Sorry about that, had to remember how to post on h2g2, its been a while (well nigh on a month, but I think thats the longest I've gone without posting before). My first post of the year. How can you keep people interested for more than 5 seconds these days? *checks watch*

Oh well the 5 seconds were good while they lasted... Anyway as I was saying... erm, hello. Helllloooo....

Sorry, easily distracted... Well a new year has come and is already munching through the days with the same rapidity that it has before. Wow time flies. All the people I've met on h2g2 in that time :

There was spook, who I haven't seen in ages. Jodan, who works too hard! - hows the Sheep? Reefgirl, who gets far too stressed. Shoal Prexy, who I believe has recently changed in to some other user account - if you're reading - hi. Theres Awix, who did all those edits, and must go and work for the BBC now that Doctor Who is back. There is HPB - or DISCWORLDS PYTHONIST as was - yes I still remember smiley - evilgrin. Theres Shazz, who was very patient with my very long story title smiley - winkeye. Theres Greebo who had all those games, but seemed to get tired. Theres Friendly With Teeth who went to a summer school camp and haven't seen on hootoo since... whats in the water there smiley - yikes? Theres the lovely ViP, who was very kind in my early days, and patient in my later mad days (as many of you have been smiley - winkeye). Theres Owlatron, who nearly got in serious trouble after making the Terranic Army very interesting in its early days, along with Luke Skywalker (long story)! Theres Creachy, and his doppleganger Phenom. Theres Ralph the Wonder Llama - who was clearly watching too much Monty Python before chosing his name. The dangerous but fantastic Werekitty. Theres the Incredible group from the Board Room of Evil (a number of whom crossed over to the Terranic Army) namely Yankee-Shoes, Jedi Jade (not forgetting Thras), Legion, Mystrunner, and many many others. Oh and of course Rimmer! One of the first people I met, and the marvellous Red Dwarf rpg. Also thank you to everyone who has participated in any of the groups I have created.

There are so many fantastic people on h2g2, and I appologise to anyone who I've not listed, because I could list so many like EchoMikeRomeo who I've not known long, but in the time I have known her I know she'll do really well for the post. But as a flawed human being my brain is just recalling people randomly. You're all fantastic. And I think you all need reminding of that far more often.

The reason I'm writing all these names really, is that I'm trying to come to a decision. Well in a way I'm trying to decide whether I should continue to be an on off poster, or whether to say my good byes. As they say it doesn't have to be forever. But I wonder if I need more time away from the place, mostly because of my work commitments, but perhaps it may give myself a new respect for the place. A little like watching your favourite TV series after a period of time has more effect than if you watch it all the time...

Whatever I decide I just want to say that its been educational, and at times I've had a lot of fun. This was my first proper Internet community, and I feel I've learned a lot about the Internet, and has been a way in to other areas, and made me feel much more comfortable talking to people from across the globe. That is the wonder of the Internet, you can be in the comfort of your own home, and chattingly idly about things being better than sliced bread, or whether we should call Thursday - Thursday or if we should call it Thing.

And long may it continue. We can all get too intense (maybe I'm doing that a little now), but the Internet is one of the best things to happen to the Human race. So I doff my cap to people like Douglas Adams, I thank Sir Tim Berner-Lee for allowing us to make the best of this medium, and for all the fantastic people who have allowed us to create technology such as this.

Anyway at this juncture I would like to say : smiley - panda . Thank you smiley - winkeye

I would like to continue finishing off my guide entry on the Cybermen (BTW Jodan and my h2g2 American friends, you'll soon be able to watch Doctor Who on the Sci Fi channel smiley - biggrin), and I would like to continue to do some more articles from the post.

After that we'll see, but anyway, I think I've written enough for 20 posts, considering this is my first post of the new year!

Ralph the Wonder Llama and André the dodo; Excrement Occurs

I'm kind of sorry to see you go, Terran, but I must say, I know how you feel. I've turned into an on/off poster, so I think I know what made you make this decision. So, farewell, and thanks...it's been surreal.

And for your information...THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS TOO MUCH MONTY PYTHON!smiley - crosssmiley - tongueout

I refuse to say goodbye oh honourable leader. I will refuse to acknowledge your absence until my dying breath. You wil not leave, I simply won't let you But I won't be so stubborn as to not give you a good logical argument over why you shouldn't remain to chew over:

"A little like watching your favourite TV series after a period of time has more effect than if you watch it all the time..."

The thing is with your favourite TV shows is that they can get monotonous. New, exciting characters are rarely introduced and after a while you can predict what will happen. Unlike on H2G2, where the versatility of the individual contributes so much to the ever changing character of the site. And exulterated Terran, you are one of those characters able to lift your head high as a great contributer to a truly wonderful community. Perhaps you need reminding of that more often than you thinksmiley - winkeye

If you do choose to depart for a while, I shall keep the baner of Terran flying high, and I promise to spend a lot more time in the Army pages. I was actually thinking this morning that I miss the banter in there. All it needs is a little injection of life, and you are vital to that, so stay, have a beersmiley - cheers put your feet up and enjoy the humoursmiley - biggrin
