h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

Being President of h2g2 has been a genuine honor. I thank everyone for the opportunity to represent the community. But we have entered a new era and it's time for me to turn over the reigns. Soooooooo, it's election time, folks!

The last election was great fun. I expect the next one to be equally entertaining. We will need an election commission to oversee the campaigns and the election itself.

Let's get busy and make all of this happen.

I can't do it either. Pressures of work, gamy leg, failing eyesight, the crown doesn't fit, that sort of thing.

Woot Woot! Will there be Bunting? And flags?

You can't have an election without bunting.

The first thing we need to establish is a time table. We'll need a place to sign up to run. A time limit for campaigning. Where and when to vote. Like I said, we need an election commission to get the nuts and bolts worked out.

Volunteers please!

I would volunteer but as I'm planning on running as well I don't want to be open to accusations of corruption and vote rigging. At least not until I'm in and nobody can do anything about it.

When you win you'll need a chief of staff.

Do I have to stay neutral in all of the campaigning? Real politicians certainly endorse candidates. But I'm not sure what it considered appropriate in this situation.

Jordan did a pretty good job last time. I'd have voted for you had I known you back then.

Jordan is an awesome campaigner. I'm still making payments on all those yachts he gave away as bribes.

I ran against Hypatia last time and was beaten fair and square, despite my excellent manager, Mu Beta. I can't run now, as I'm a Guide Editor and am not eligible.

Guide editors are more important than presidents, Gnomon. And you don't have to pay bribes.
