Well, I'm at a British University, and we don't have laser light *or* huge sums of money. 
I'll just have to use it for sticking things together........

Theoretically you should be able to stick lots of tiny metallic particles to it and use it like audio tape... I wouldn't trust any valuable recordings to it though...

I have extremely vague memories of seeing something like this on TV, so it could well be true!
