I am a big fan of Star Trek, The Original, The Next Generation, Deep Space Nine and Voyager. I also an avid fan of Stargate and Doctor Who. I have always wondered what life would really be like living in a starship or even space station and how they could they adjust to the fact that never see sunlight and where there are no seasons. It must put the internal body clock wrong, and it would take anyone quite a long time to adjust to these surroundings.

I would love to have been born in a time of the future when we could live on board a or space station.
Maybe they grow accustomed to the lack of light or they have regular light-sessions in the holodeck.
Imagine no more cooking, just a computer to do your bidding and a hole in the wall gives you your dinner.
In the meantime I'll just enjoy Farscape and Star Trek etc...

I learnt about an experiment about 20 years ago where volunteers lived below in cavern for a week to see how would their body react to been starved of so much light and how long it would take before their body came acustomed to it.
I cannot remember what was the sole purpose for this project.

I loved the 1st. series of Star Trek, because it was so different from anything that came before it.
My favourite Sci Fi series though was Blake's Seven.

Do Digiboxes get winter blues? Mine has been playing up as well or do you think it is the effect of the weather I have noticed that my digibox works better when it is sunny.
I am finding remebering these difficult. I get very flustered when the blue box comes in and I keep on having to switch it off at the wall.
Here is some , , , and cider, (no smiley for cider).

Hi everyone
I like most sci-fi programmes too, I like the fact that humanity has united and put aside our petty squabbles

and then go to your "preferences" you'll see the new "plain" skin, change to that and that should stop you getting those annoying blue boxes

My biggest heartache is that when you write a long msg. and you are just finishing, the digibox resets itself!
I feel like screaming!
Does anyone remember a Sci Fi film based on the Magnificent Seven, which in turn was based on The Seven Samurai.
The guy who acted as John Boy Walton (Richard Thomas maybe?) was the lead actor, and Robert Vaughn was one of the mercenaries. He was in the Magnificent Seven too.
I can't remember the name of the film, but I liked it a lot.

Thank you Kow for that very helpful link. Now life will be alot easier.
I remember a television series based on the Magnificent Seven.
I am going through a phase since I have recently discovered how to use them.

Hi Kow,
that was indeed a Sci Fi film starring Yul Brynner, who was also in the Magnificent Seven, but as soon as I read your posting, it came to me.
I'm sure it was called Beyond The Stars.
Thanks for the jog to my memory!
Thanks also for the way to make the pages plain. I stole into your space yesterday and saw how to do it. I hope you don't mind.

No, I think it was just called Magnificent 7. The Westworld was with Yul Bryner (sci-fi cowboy) and he was a robot I think and it was some sort of cowboy robotic theme park.

Sorry ,but it was BATTLE BEYOND THE STARS.as well as the late great robert vaughn and john boy walton it also if my memory serves me right featured lee majors as a sort of intergalactic trucker and a young lady who would make your average klingon female look like a real pussycat

"the late great robert vaughn"
Unless he's died today and I haven't heard, your reporting of his death is premature.
