h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

I think other people have talked on threads about this before but I feel really overerun by my own children.Constantly paying out for things all the time anfd the house being in a mess leaves me often feeling like a drone.And yet I love them vey much.When they were younger i seemed to have alot more control over my life and the finances went somewhere now it seems as if each penny is gone befoore I have even got it.
When my kids were tiny i loved the job..I saw freinds went out sometimes and my house was my own I felt pretty much as I had always felt with some extra joy.Now I feel pretty much as if my life has been taken over.My own parents raised five children and are still healthy married and sane but I feel as if I'm being cut off at the knees most days.
And yet when things are gouing well threes nothing better!!Am I lone voice in the wilderness?

No you are certainly not the lone voice in the wilderness!.. There are many of us out here that have been, still are and one day will be.. in your position.

Your parents seemed to manage their 5 because that is what parents do.. manage! You as a child would never notice the difference. Beside they were two. You imply that you are one, bit difference.

My daughters will probably say that I was very strict with them in their upbringing, but I also hope they would say I was fair too.

You don't mention how many or what age group they are in. So I can only talk generally with you, and let you know that you are quite sane and still a good mother no matter how dishevelled your home, and money can't ever buy the love and affection you give your children. So in that they are very rich!

The new school term always seems to hit the pocket! Day trips here, day trips there! Talk to the schools, see it maybe you could pay a little at a time. You won't be the first to ask, I wasn't!!

Chin up girl! If you look closely, you will see a little chink of light at the end of that tunnel.
