Nah, be my guest. But don't expect me to have the faintest idea what the differences between your job titles mean.

Here's a breif description, but don't worry if you're confused. I am, and I've been here for years!

Scouts - scout out suitable entries for inclusion in the Edited Guide. If they find one then they submit it to PeerReview. It hangs around there for a while, during its stay, researchers come along and say what they think needs changing about it. When a Scout thinks it's ready he picks it, and the entry gets removed from Peer Review and sent to a...

<./>SubEditors</.> - get sent entries (usually about 4 a month) and they correct spelling mistakes and adapt the entry so that it is in the house-style. Often the original author has chosen to write it just in plain text and the subeditor has to convert it to GuideML (see the <./>GuideML-Clinic</.> for more info). When the subed's finished it gets sent back to the h2g2 editors (part of the <./>Team</.> that are lucky enough to be payed by the BBC) and after a few tweaks it gets put on the frontpage and included in the Edited Guide.

Gurus - help people with any technical problems they encounter while browsing h2g2. If you ever have a problem (perhaps you can't get some GuideML to work or something) just drop by one of the Gurus' space and ask for help

Aces - welcome new researchers and help them get settled in. They hang around community forums like <./>askh2g2</.> and chat. If two researchers get in a bit of a huff over something, an Ace might come along and try and diffuse the situation.

The Guardian Angels - also welcome people. In times gone by it was felt that having a person with a badge which said "Offical Assistant Community Editor" on it was enough to scare new researchers into not coming back. So the Guardian Angels were set up by the community to bring a little humanity to welcoming people. More about them can be found here A467606
