5 Years of Existential Hootooism!
Existential Elevator Started conversation Jun 3, 2007
It's been 5 years...
Yeah, five years. Five years yesterday. Doesn't seem it, does it?
Five years of friends gained, lost, and died. Of arguments and laughter. Of articles and conversation. Funny to think I joined at 14... and you all thought I was a lot older Yup, while I was here I went through my SATs, my GCSEs, my A-Levels and now my first exams at uni. I met at least 3 of my best mates here [TB, Rimmsie, and Diablos/Skye..though there are more who do not frequent this site as often who I hold dear] and had some of the best times of my teen years with you guys.
Funny how the world changes.

Eep you're the age now that I was when I joined and I've been here over four years myself. Things certainly do change
Happy hootooversary

UNC!
Wow, that is a very weird thought... Also, I used to complain back then that hootoo was full of uni students, but, well, I can't talk anymore
How are you, anyway?
How is anyone, for that matter?

It's been nearly two years since I was a uni student , that certainly has gone by quickly.
I'm fine, Milly keeps me very busy, especially now she's walking . I've been helping out at the local school to see if I really want to teach or not. It's great playing with play dough again
Opti, you joined back in April 2003 I think. I'll have to find your old page to see when you joined, maybe the old you is still on my friends list
Anyways, how are you doing EE?

Aaah, I don't think I realised Opti had another account..
Milly's walking! Ooo, things go so fast Bet she's a real sweetie They start getting really cute at that age [in my opinion anyway ] My youngest cousin's just about hit that, she's a real little bundle of mischief, but with such an innocent face you wouldn't suspect anything
Aye, Temporal Bandit took some time out to work in schools.. He's just about to finish his PGCE in secondary teaching. Though turns out he doesn't really want to teach after all If you've still got any mail contact with him might be worth trading experiences or whatnot, though I can offer you second-hand advice Hope it works out well for you though
Frankly, I'm a real mixed bag. Lots of rather horrific things going on: lost both my Great-Grandma [she was only 82, not really that old] and one of my best mates [who was only 18] pretty recently. And other stuff too, which is just messy and complicated, and no fun at all.
Uni's pretty amazing though, and I can't be thankful enough for the situation I'm in. Okay, being in halls is awful, and my course is slow at the moment, but the people I've made friends with are just fab, and I really couldn't be luckier despite everything

She's 15 months old now . Milly has a very cheeky face though when she's up to no good, a little sparkle suddenly appears in her eyes
Yes I remember he was doing a PGCE, but I'd go for primary school teaching. Going back to university would be a big commitment, so I'm making sure I really want to teach before I apply. My parents both teach as well, so I'm getting plenty of advice.
University is fantastic, I remember when times were tough for me near the end of my first year everyone helped. Halls are awful, I remember well the start of my second year when I started sharing a house, I was so thrilled just to have a front door . It's like another step towards independance then too, as for the first time there's little things like gas and telephone bills to sort.

awwwh! What a sweet thing!
Aye, as I understand [and I may be mildly misinformed] his other half is doing a primary one, so again, might be worth asking What kind of age group were you looking at? I reckon they'd be really sweet until they hit about 9 Either way
I'm really excited about living out next year Have the smallest room but a MASSIVE kitchen, so I get to cook lots of pie
PG - long time since you've been here
