Since writing, the Department of Health now recommends exclusive breastfeeding for six months, but the maternity leave situation does not guarantee a mother six months away from work after the birth: the Department suggests that expressing is the solution to this - if only it was that easy!

There are several researchers trying to bang together a comprehensive entry on breastfeeding, if you'd be interested in coming along and offering your comments we'd be happy to have you.
