A useful article. What might have been interesting would have been the inclusion of some info on the past practice of wet nursing. High income mothers presumably employed wet nurses to avoid the trouble of nursing themselves, poor women perhaps working extremely long hours in factories used wet nurses so that they could continue with their employment. But both cases seem to indicate an understanding that natural breast feeding of infants is the best.
