I like the style of this entry, (can't vouch for the accurancy of the contents though smiley - winkeye) there is only one thing that seems to be bothering me. It does tell you how to break into a car, I know there an entry in the Edited Guide about making your own atom bomb,A676352 , but to do that you would need some commercial-grade high explosive and a neutron emitter, to break into a car you would need some blue parcel tape, which is considerably easier to get hold of.

Getting to the point of peer review, I can't think of anything else I would like to know on the subject, (unless you happen to know how to get into cars with remote central locking?). Also I don't really think that the first paragraph needs to be done using the whole subheader tag, maybe you should try it with italics or in bold.

Well Done for the entry

For the first point, the reference at the end to hot wiring was removed, and the rest passed, so I guess there's no problem.

Central locking. I'm not sure whether this would work or not, I've never tried it. I don't see why not, since you can lock a door on such a car with keys or from the inside, so the mechanism must be there. My parent's car has remote central locking, so I'll try it on theirs next time I see them (They'll love that smiley - smiley)

Top bit... Hmm, it *is* only in bold, oh B*gg*r, what have I done wrong now...

Don't know what I'd done, but I've put it in italics now anyway. Better?

Zarquon's Singing Fish!

I think it's just the way things are at present, KA! There's loads of entries in PR, the World Cup is on and it's Jubilee, plus people are on holiday. (think you're hard done by - I've had an entry in PR for almost two days and *no-one* has commented, except me. See A752095.

I have difficulties seeing how the tape will go round corners. I'm sure you need to bend it to get the button to move.

I still think that having a spare key in a magnetic box attached to the underside of the car is a good trick!

I know, I was just being smiley - silly

Not sure what you mean about corners- it's hard to explain without diagrams.

The gap you push the tape into is almost vertical between the frame and the door. Once you get to the knob, the tape pushes past the knob, thenfits *under* the buldge at the top, if you pull slowly but firmly, the tape stays under knob, and brings it up with it. Go tyry it if you have a car, even if you don't suceed, you will see the pribciple. I'll see if I can make it a little clearer. With a lot of practice it is possible to do it as fast as with keys.

Two Bit Trigger Pumping Moron

I think the entry should be expanded to include alternate methods.

I think the disclaimer is absurd. It's perfectly legitmate to need to break into your own car from time to time. I've done it loads of times. On the job, I now carry at least three keys on my person. In my personal life, I carry one key to my personal and work car in my wallet.

There are numerous ways to break into cars. The easiet way that I can thik of is smashing out the vent window. The most common way I've used is a slim jim. Some cars have ways to defeat the slim jim, but it will almost always work eventually. The probelm is that using a slim jim can damage the lock. However, I've always been able to fix the damage myself. There are also kits that you can buy to break into cars.

Incidently, I think you look sillier trying to break into a car than when you have a professional come over and pop the lock.

Your Guide Entry has just been picked from Peer Review by one of our Scouts, and is now heading off into the Editorial Process, which ends with publication in the Edited Guide. We've therefore moved this Review Conversation out of Peer Review and to the entry itself.

If you'd like to know what happens now, check out the page on 'What Happens after your Entry has been Recommended?' at EditedGuide-Process. We hope this explains everything.

Thanks for contributing to the Edited Guide!

Yay smiley - cheers

Phew- now I don't have to do all that work expanding it
-the trouble with slim jims, is not all that many people just happen to have them lying around- packing tape is a bit is easier to find...
