As if I don't have enough to wear me down right now, just as it's about to hit 95+°F (35ish°C) for a few days, our a/c at home is once again not working properly, and no response as of yet from the landlord as to when we can expect that to be corrected.

I really am having a crap year.

Get yourself over here. It once reached 30°C here - it's recorded in the Annals of Ulster under the year 516 AD or thereabouts.

That's the best reason I've ever been given to visit a place!

The a/c is fixed now, thankfully, so I'm a lot less crabby. And it won't be crappy in here while I'm off work all next week. A few years ago, we lost power for five days in the middle of July (lightning hit a transformer during a bad t-storm). Aside from it being very difficult to get ready for work in the dark, since I get up at 4:30AM, it was miserable trying to get comfortable. It was 32°C ish all that week. We went out for dinner every night and found lots of excuses to kill time at shops. Thank goodness my stove has gas burners, or I might have killed someone on the way to work without having had my morning coffee.

Ja, come to Eye Land, where the weather changes every 5 minutes. You can run around in the snow in just underwear with P, or sit huddled up in 7 layers of sweaters by the fire with me, or fry in the porch, or boil in a bath, or freeze in a shower....we cater to all types!

Organise a game of cricket at your local sportsfield, PC; a cricket match almost guarantees rain!

I bet it doesn't even snow in Ireland in June, Terri. We had a lot of rain Friday but it's sunny now. And comfortably cool(ish) inside.

I will ask P to look it up in one of his many, many statistical weather records; i'm pretty sure it has snowed here in May.

June 17th is Independence Day in Iceland. Apart from large earthquakes hitting then, we've also had snow a few times. It doesn't stick of course.

Currently, it's close to 24hr sunlight, but only about 14-20'C, which has always seemed unfair to me..

I could cope with those temperatures... but the 24 hour sunlight would make it hard to sleep. I've been having problems this month with getting to sleep properly- since I get up at 4:30 I usually crash between 8:30 and 9:30, and it's hard to fall asleep when it's still light.
