I wonder if any of my other hootoo friends are on Facebook?

I've found JEllen, Bel, Edward the Bonobo, Lil, Skankyrich, Mar, Fizzynouse, Woodpigeon, Christopher, Anoldgreymoonraker, Maniacal Vixen, Ismarah, and Abbi Normal.

I'd love to find any of my other friends, if you're there. Shoot an email to wyrdsister23 AT hotmail DOT com if you're interested and I'll send you my real name so you can add me. smiley - winkeye

Not (so far) joining in the Facebook revolution... but I suppose it's only a matter of time!

Susanne - if it ain't broke, break it!

Hi Psychocandy smiley - biggrin!
Been lurking on and off again for a couple of months now...
I've got a profile on Facebook, so if you want to have a look, search for me among Ed the Bonobo's friends.

I'm on it pretty much constantly. If you look amongst EtB's friends, I'm the one that looks like a parrot/human hybrid mutant thing.

Edward the Bonobo - Gone.

Actually...as you'll have noticed, I've pretty much given up on Facebook. It's just a time thing. I may be back, if I can find a reason its essential.

to Susanne. Good to see you back!

Absolutely not on it, and won't be as far as I can see. Holds no interest or worth for me. Or maybe I'm just an antisocial wotsit. Yeah, that could be it...

As far as I'm concerned, Facebook is what happens when I fall asleep while reading. The bigger the book, the worse it gets. smiley - bruised

I refused to join it, but then lost touch with one of my cousins and the only way to get back in touch with her was to contact her through FB - so for that reason alone I joined. I have just 20 (ish) friends - not one of those that does the "friends" thing with random peeps. I like it for keeping in touch with friends and family in the US and Oz........half the kids here at work are all on FB and friends with the bods they sit with in the office - I don't get that!

I don't have a lot of friends on there, either, just about 40- I only add people I actually talk to otherwise. Mostly people I know in RL, but since I pop on there once or twice a day to play Lexulous and to muck about for a few minutes here and there, I figured there's no harm in catching hootoo friends on there as well as on here. Plus there's ways to speak more privately on there.

I also can be found on EtB's friends list.

There's a certain level of privacy that can be attained on FB that I can't manage here. Since I do most of my web surfing at the office, and have a one-hour maximum for social networking and personal web sites, it's easier than trying to read people's blogs and stuff.

Fortunately h2g2 isn't one of the restricted sites (as of now, anyway) so I can kill as much time here as I like. smiley - biggrin

"There's a certain level of privacy that can be attained on FB that I can't manage here"

Not sure what you mean by that, could you explain?

"Fortunately h2g2 isn't one of the restricted sites (as of now, anyway) so I can kill as much time here as I like"

Yes, I do wonder how much of the popularity of h2g2 is down to the fact that most places block at the domain level and thus allow bbc.co.uk as it is a news/broadcasting site without realising that h2g2 is here as well and sits underneath it all. Not much, I'm sure, but a certain amount must be.

And I don't think Ictoan or Ivan are antisocial wotsits. I resisted for ages myself, and only joined because I wanted to play the Scrabble game. smiley - laugh

You betcha.

I plan to unsub from this convo later today and start a new journal entry about something less silly soon. It's month end again so I'll get busy again in a day or two but I know I had something I wanted to say...

Edward the Bonobo - Gone.

What I'd like to know...

In an initial fit of enthusiasm, I inclued lots of people on my Friends list who I'm not particularly interested in maintaining quite so much contact with. The question is...if I remove them, will they get a message saying that I don't want to be their friend any more?
