That feels a bit weird, actually.

In ancient times in the early 80s, well before Google Earth, there was a montage of satellite photos in the National Museum of Photography and Film in Bradford. At one end was most of Europe and at the other, zoomed right in, were a couple of houses in a street in Swallownest, a village between Sheffield and Rotherham.
One of them was the home of a workmate, and his car was prominent in the drive.
Small world, innit?

It's google maps and I didn't set the marker, but the dark car in the entrance (not the one next to the yellow car) could be ours.

There's something beautifully Zen about entering mystery co-ordinates into Google Earth and watching the planet fly by underneath.

I'm not really here Posted Aug 31, 2008
I haven't got it downloaded, but one of my Bambis and my first Hijet were outside my house last time I used their online map.

What I'm most confused by is that there's a car that looks exactly like my old car outside our block of flats, but it says the photo is from 2003, and we only moved there in late 2005...
I also love the fact that there's absolutely no sign whatsoever of the building that I now work in!

One of those might be BV's car, and if it isn't that's where it would have been parked in March 2003. Probably.

Gnomon - time to move on Posted Sep 1, 2008
My neighbour's car is the red blob at the centre of this:

but GoogleMaps doesn't zoom in any closer.

I seem to move too often. My other half's old house has a car in the drive but it's not one of mine so must be the new owners.
My old house in Birmingham seems to have my tennant's car parked outside it - and the garden is still in its virgin rainforest state - so it's clearly before we moved back in and got rid of my tenant and the small tribe of pygmies who'd moved into the back garden.
Neither of my houses in Cardiff have a car parked outside at all...

I'm not sure that's my motorcycle, but that is where I park it. Since it looks like it might be red, I think it's probably the red Honda Nighthawk belonging to the British expat that works in my building. And looking at the shadow it's casting, I think he's sitting on it!
Zoom out a bit and take a look at some of the nearby points of interest.

This little building is not special. It's basically just a shed for JSC's lawn maintenance equipment. However I thought some here might get a kick out of knowing that that's Building 42.

Just looking on Google Maps....
my car is at my old house, my sister's old house, and my place of work!
The satellite people are following me, it may be time for the foil hats...

Google earth has turned me into a terribly nosey git*
Where once I had christmas card acquaitances (ie. old friends I'm unlikely to see again), now I have christmas card acquaintances...
...but I know what their house looks like
-or at least I can narrow it down to a few houses...
Interestingly I thought my Aunt and Uncle in Helensburgh Scotland lived in such a posh district that they'd somehow paid google - or got a court order or something - to ensure that the nearest view of their large houses was fuzzed out to prevent potential burglars scouting their houses out. It's OK for those with the dosh I thought...
...but then my Mum pointed out that Helensburgh is on the same Loch as a nuclear submarine base...
... so that'll be it then
*or at least released a previously unrealised passion in this area
