I am reading books lately of "Black" Americans because their story is so hidden here in the USA. I read a book recently about Dorothy Dandridge, a forgotten "black" hollywood star. She was amazing and gorgeous and tragic; like another Marilyn Monroe. They were friends. Maybe I will write something one day. (I am a writer.)
My latest book is "Another Way Home: The Tangled Roots of Race in One Chicago Family" by Ronne Hartfield ISBN 0-226-31821-4
It is a multi-generational story of the mixing of white and black lovers: some married and some not and the complications that arose. Some "masters" and some "slaves" and some "free." It is fascinating. I highly recommend it.

Hi, thanks for posting.
You may like to post a separate thread on this theme on the main Bookworms Club page as it seems to deserve its own thread.
But since I have joined the Bookworms Club there doesn't seem to be much activity - all got heads in books I guess!
