A very good book for all you science minded folks is Corpse: Nature, Forensics and The Struggle to Pinpoint the Time of Death by Jessica Snyder Sachs. This book discusses the difficulty of trying to apply a "specific" time to a murder, suicide or whatever. It takes you through the 3 basics, then how anthropology, botany and entomology help make it more exact. Very interesting.
